This kit comes pre jetted with spare jets for fine tuning and the alloy sleeves fitted. This kit comes complete with a Throttle and Cable. Going fast has never been so easy, say goodbye to hard starting, hesitations and flatspots.

There were two OEM optioned carbs fitted by the Suzuki factory to the DRZ400 here in Australia and world wide maybe others, being either a CV Mikuni for road use or a flatslide Keihin for off road only. The Keihin came in three front to back lengths we are aware of- 100mm the same as the TM40, 95 or 88mm which is a very short carb, if changing out any of these Keihins because of the common throttle valve wear and failure, some modifications will be required to be performed by yourself.

All the Keihins have a 55mm OD inlet matching the TM40 and we fit an outlet sleeve to increase the TM40 to match the 47mm outside diameter at the Keihin motor end. You have to remove or loosen your rear frame to remove the air filter box compartment. In some applications you can get away with just removing the unused idle speed tag on the cable bracket hanging out behind the alloy cable rotor. The other method when replacing the shorter Keihin carbs which eliminates the need to cut or grind anything off the carb is to remove the rubber engine mounting flange, then using a die grinder remove the internal ridge allowing the new TM40 to penetrate further forward into the rubber thus clearing the tank and frame behind.

The kit also comes with throttle cables and a quick action throttle. There are jets provided that must be changed as well as spares for fine tuning. Climate, altitude and fuel density from different octane fuels all have varying effects on final fine tuning as does cam, exhaust and cylinder head porting etc.

For this reason we have included what we have found to be a range of jets to allow you to tune to most variables. The TM40-6 comes with a side pull knob choke. We have express options available for all our products also.
